VOLS (Volunteers of Legal Service) will provide free one-on-one assistance from volunteer attorneys to help eligible older adults and people with disabilities apply for SCRIE or DRIE rent freeze benefits. Eligibility: at least 62 years old OR receiving a government disability benefit such as Social Security Disability or SSI; living in a rent-stabilized, HDFC, or Mitchell-Lama apartment; household income of $50,000 or less; spending more than ⅓ of monthly income on rent.
