What We Do

Founded in New York City in 1978, SAGEServes offers innovative services and programs to LGBTQ+ elders throughout New York and through replicated programs in Florida. These include specialize programming for homebound elders, LGBTQ+ veterans, caregivers, and older people living with HIV/AIDS.

Our SAGE Centers offer a diverse selection of virtual and in-person social activities and programs, and our Care Management Team provides holistic coordinated care for LGBTQ+ elders and those who care for them.

Building off our NYC roots, we have expanded two programs into Southern Florida. SAGE Miami Services for LGBTQ+ Elders provides social and financial relief programs to LGBTQ+ elders in Miami-Dade County. In Fort Lauderdale, SAGEServes runs a Friendly Visiting program that offers social support to homebound elders through weekly visits and calls by volunteers.

SAGE Centers

SAGE helps older LGBTQ+ people live longer, happier, healthier lives by offering meals, classes, and much more at our SAGE Centers across NYC.

Care Management

SAGEServes’ Care Management teams offers LGBTQ+ elders and caregivers access to LGBTQ+ affirming support and programs.

Friendly Visiting

Our Friendly Visiting programs in NYC and Fort Lauderdale, FL offer social support to homebound elders through weekly visits and volunteer check-ins.

SAGEPositive provides services and support designed for those aging with HIV/AIDS.

SAGEVets is a NY state program to help LGBTQ+ older people who are veterans of military service improve their access to the VA and other veteran services, as well as support their overall health and wellness.

SAGE Miami Services For LGBTQ+ Elders

The SAGE Miami Services for LGBTQ+ Elders program strives to ensure that LGBTQ+ elders have the practical, financial, and social supports they need to age in place and live with dignity across Miami-Dade County.

We are at the front lines of developing LGTBQ+-affirming housing in NYC and beyond.

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to allow you to connect with older LGBTQ+ people and give back to the generation that ignited the modern LGBTQ+ equality movement.
