Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of SAGEServes. Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to offer many of the programs and services that are so important to enriching the lives of LGBTQ+ elders.

Ways to Volunteer

SAGEServes offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, including Friendly Visiting, SAGEConnect, and other ad hoc volunteer opportunities such as meal service, event support, and front desk supervision.

SAGEConnect

SAGEConnect is a phone-buddy program that matches LGBTQ+ elders with volunteers for weekly phone calls. This volunteer opportunity is available to anyone in the United States.

Friendly Visiting

Homebound or neighborhood-bound LGBTQ+ older people can often have little weekly contact with the outside other than visits with health professionals, and virtually no contact with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Friendly Visitor volunteers are paired with these individuals and commit to visiting their match once a week for an hour or two, and calling to check in between visits.

SAGEServes currently offers programs in New York City and Fort Lauderdale. Visit these pages to learn more!

Facilitate a Program

Interested in in leading a program at a SAGE Center? SAGEServes is committed to providing our participants with the highest quality programming. Our goal is to ensure that all adults are able to age actively and healthfully in their own communities. Fill out our programming proposal form and get involved!

Corporate Opportunities

We invite you to join SAGE as a corporate partner in our work to achieve a high quality of life for LGBTQ+ elders. Becoming a SAGE corporate partner offers opportunities to engage employees via opportunities at our SAGE Centers in New York City and select events.
